Tottenham born left half Sid White began his football career with Edmonton Ramblers in 1920 before signing for First Division club Tottenham Hotspur, for whom he made his Football League debut at Nottingham Forest in November 1923. A fringe player at White Hart Lane, he made 22 appearances over three seasons at White Hart Lane, his best showing being 12 appearances in 1925-26 when he had a run in the team between January and March 1926, as Tottenham finished fifteenth in the First Division. After leaving Tottenham he became a trainer, most notably at Clapton Orient, where he was assistant to their long serving manager Peter Proudfoot (who had three spells as manager in the 1920’s and 1930’s) and to David Pratt. In January 1935 he acted as caretaker manager for a match against Northampton Town after Pratt’s sacking and the subsequent re-appointment of Proudfoot.
