Glasgow born centre half Thomas Sloan played his entire senior career for Third Lanark, where he served as club captain and was a member of their 1903-04 Scottish League Championship winning team. He won a full international cap for Scotland when he played in a 1-1 draw with Wales at Dens Park, Dundee, in March 1904. He later became a right back with the club (“a position he fills with credit to himself and to his club” as it was said of him at the time), and after his playing career was over he served as a Third Lanark club director.
