Perth born centre half Frank Reilly started his football career with Perth Violet in 1911 before signing for Falkirk in 1912. During the First World War he enlisted in the Army with the 16th Royal Scots, known as “The McCrae’s Battalion” and survived the conflict, returning to Brockville Park.

He was soon signed by First Division Blackburn Rovers  making his Football League debut against Derby County in December 1919 and thereafter was a regular in their first team over the next four seasons until 1923, when he signed for Llanelly after playing 138 games and scoring 9 goals. He subsequently had a spell  at Swansea Town in 1923-24 where he didn’t make the first team, and returned to play for Llanelly before joining Weymouth in 1924  and Lancaster City in 1925.
