Glasgow born centre half Harry Rae began his football career with Glasgow Benburb in 1914 before moving to Clyde in 1917. He joined Morton in 1918, staying for a season before returning to Shawfield in 1919. He spent another six years with Clyde before being transferred to Third Division (South) Brentford in the summer of 1925, making his Football League debut against Northampton Town that August and immediately establishing himself as a fixture in The Bees’ line up. In his two seasons at Griffin Park he scored 7 goals in 76 appearances, before returning to Scotland to join Hamilton Academical in 1927.
