Description
Newport, Shropshire born inside right George Moore had the briefest senior football career, which began at Stafford Rangers, from where he signed for First Division club Notts County in 1907. He made his Football League debut, and only senior appearance, against Bolton Wanderers in a 1-0 defeat at Trent Bridge three days after Christmas 1907, which ended in a 1-0 defeat for The Magpies. Moore subsequently returned to Stafford Rangers and in 1911 played for Siemens Institute, his last recorded team.
His older brother Jack Moore played for Burton United, Derby County and Watford during the 1900’s.
