Description

Newport, Shropshire born inside or outside left Jack Moore began his football career with Stanton at the turn of the twentieth century, playing for Tamworth Athletic in 1902 and Allsopp’s Brewery in 1903, from where he joined Second Division club Burton United in November 1904, making his Football League debut playing inside left at Bristol City that December, thereafter scoring 3 goals in his next two matches for Burton United. He was then signed First Division club Derby County in January 1905, playing 3 matches for The Rams that month at outside left and one further match at inside left in April, but he played only one more match for Derby, at Woolwich Arsenal in March 1906, before joining Oldham Athletic in November 1906. However he never made The Latics’ first team, thereafter finishing his career with Southern League club Watford, whom he joined in 1909, his last recorded club before his retirement.

His younger brother George Moore played once for Notts County in 1907.
