Description
Dundee born outside right William Ford played Army football for the Cameron Highlanders before joining Arbroath in April 1903. He then transferred to Heart of Midlothian in May 1903, without appearing for their first team, before going on loan to Motherwell between September 1903 and April 1904. At the start of May 1904 he signed for Southern League Portsmouth before joining West Ham United in April 1905. He made 7 appearances during the 1905-06 season for The Hammers, scoring once against Reading in a 3-2 home defeat in October 1905, returning to Scotland to join Aberdeen in August 1906, for whom he made 6 appearances during 1906-07, scoring twice. He then re-joined Arbroath in December 1906.
