Parkhead, Glasgow born inside forward Jimmy Logan began his football with local side St Anthony’s in 1914, but after World War One he joined Second Division Bury in 1919, making his debut against Huddersfield Town at Gigg Lane that September, scoring on his debut in a 2-0 win. He got another goal the following April in a 2-2 draw at home to Coventry City, but despite these goals, his opportunities were very limited, his only five appearances in his first season were followed by a mere two further matches in 1920-21. He moved on to Southend United in the summer of 1921 but despite figuring in 3 matches that September he finished with the professional game soon thereafter, having made 10 Football League appearances in total.
