Haydock, Lancashire born centre half Walter Leivesley began his football career before the First World War with Haydock Colliery, and after the conflict joined First Division Everton in the summer of 1919, making his Football League debut against Sheffield United in March 1920. He made 5 appearances for The Toffees before the season end but joined newly elected Third Division (South) club Reading in the 1920 close season, however he never managed to get into The Royals’ first eleven and left the club, his subsequent career is unknown.
