Description

Faversham, Kent born outside left Sid (sometimes spelt Syd) Gore played junior football for Faversham Rangers from 1917 before joining Southern League club Gillingham in 1919, for whom, after they had been elected to the Football League Third Division in the summer of 1920, he made his Football League debut in their inaugural League match against Southampton that August. However he only made 8 appearances in their 1920-21 campaign and joined Kent League club Sittingbourne in the summer of 1921.

He returned to Football League action in 1923 when he joined Millwall in 1923 and was part of their team that recorded three third place finishes in the Third Division (South) in four years between 1923 and 1927, Gore missing only three matches in their 1913-24 campaign and being a first team regular until he finally lost his place in September 1926, before playing his last match for Millwall on Christmas Day that year. After 12 goals in 121 appearances for The Lions he again went non league joining Chatham in 1927, but he returned to Football League action with Gillingham in August 1929, making 33 appearances in their 1929-30 campaign before joining non league Ashford Town in 1930, his last known club before his eventual retirement.
