Description
Glasgow born outside right David Cumming had began his senior career with Scottish League Dundee in 1921 and was mainly a reserve at Dens Park, making only one first team appearance for The Dark Blues. However his performances in the reserves, where he had scored 9 goals, were good enough to attract Third Division (North) Grimsby Town to sign him in the 1922 close season, where he was described on his arrival as “very fast and a good shot for a wingman”, and he made his Football League debut for The Mariners against Wrexham that August. He played 6 times for Grimsby through to the end of September before losing his place, and little is known of his subsequent career.
