Northampton born wing half Sid Bedford signed for Northampton Town after the end of the First World War and first appeared in the Football League for The Cobblers at Swindon Town in March 1921, thereafter staying in the team until the end of the season. Over the subsequent three seasons he was a regular, and made 77 appearances scoring twice before joining Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 1924. His sojourn on the south coast was a mere season and 17 games, before he moved to Luton Town the next summer, appearing only once for The Hatters at Reading in September 1925 before he moved to non league Rushden Town the following year.
