Outside right Tommy Adams began his football career with Neilston Victoria and signed for East Fife in 1935. He was a member of East Fife’s triumphant 1938 Scottish Cup Final team that beat Kilmarnock 4-2 after extra time in front of 82,716 spectators at Hampden Park, Glasgow.still the only time The Fifers have won the Scottish Cup. Described in 1948 as “an exceptionally tricky player” and “a regular goal getter” with “a most deceptive side flick and, though not as fast as before, is still a force to be reckoned with”.

During the Second World War he played for Morton and Hibernian, and after the War he became East Fife’s club captain, leading them to the Scottish Division Two Championship and leading them to victory in the 1948 Scottish League Cup Final when he scored in the Final replay in a 4-1 win over Falkirk in November 1947. Adams also played for Greenock Morton and Forfar Athletic.
