Description

Fauldhouse, Lothian born Patrick Callaghan played mainly as an inside left, was a “superb servant” of Hibernian, playing for the club for his whole career from Scottish League debut against Kilmarnock  in September 1899, having signed for them from junior club Rosebank Rangers,  until his retirement in 1914. Early in his time with the club, he won the 1902 Scottish Cup when they beat Celtic 1-0 in the Final, and the 1903 Scottish League Championship; Callaghan made 21 appearances and scored nine goals in the latter triumph.

Callaghan represented Scotland once, in a March 1900 British Home Championship match against Ireland at Solitude, Belfast, which Scotland won 3-0. He also represented The Scottish League twice, in February 1900 and February 1903, both times in matches against The Irish League.

During his 15 years at Easter Road he scored 81 goals in 356 Scottish League and Cup appearances.
