Newcastle born centre half Thomas “Deuchar” Wilson began his football career with Morpeth Harriers from where he signed for First Division club Middlesbrough in November 1906, making his Football League debut at Bury in April 1908, playing 5 matches before the season end in place of Andy Aitken. Never a regular at Ayresome Park, he made 10 first team appearances across three seasons for ‘Boro before joining Scottish League Heart of Midlothian in September 1910, making his League debut in a 0-0 draw at Celtic the following month. Wilson played only a single season at Tynecastle, scoring once, in a 3-2 defeat at Aberdeen in November 1910, in 8 appearances for The Jambos. His subsequent career after leaving Heart of Midlothian in 1911 is unclear.
