Description

Jim Walker was the middle brother to top flight footballers Willie, born 1888, and Frank, born 1897, who went on to play for Scotland in 1922, both of whom also played for Queen’s Park. Jim was born at Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire in 1894 and started his football career at famous Scottish amateur club Queen’s Park, making his Scottish League debut at Raith Rovers in April 1914, scoring 4 goals in 19 League appearances, also playing in 4 other cup matches for The Spiders through to his final appearance in April 1919. He served with The Glasgow Highlanders during the First World War before moving to Third Lanark. He later moved to Dundee United in 1925, playing 34 times during 1925-26, scoring 3 goals before hanging up his boots at the end of the season to focus on his career as a teacher.
