Worksop, Nottinghamshire born inside forward George Richardson signed for First Division Huddersfield Town in April 1933 from Manton Colliery, making his Football League debut at Leicester City in February 1934, a game which proved to be his only Huddersfield appearance before he joined Sheffield United that May. At Bramall Lane he played twice in The Blades’ Cup run that led them to the 1936 FA Cup Final, but he wasn’t selected in the team for the Final, and by the time he signed for Hull City in November 1938 he had scored 9 goals in 37 appearances. He played for Hull City both sides of the Second World War, scoring 19 goals in 44 appearances before joining Bangor City in 1948.

NB in the photograph Richardson stands on the right with team mate Eddie Boot.
