Description

Grangetown, Yorkshire born inside right Geoff Power began his football career with Grangetown St Mary’s at the end of the First World War from where he was signed by First Division club Sunderland in 1920, making his Football League debut at Liverpool in January 1921. After 10 matches for The Wearsiders before the end of the season, he transferred to Second Division club Blackpool in the 1921 close season, where he also played at centre forward, scoring 6 goals in 17 matches during a single season at Bloomfield Road.

Power moved on to Lancashire League club Darwen in 1922 and joined Fleetwood in 1923, from where he moved to Midland League club Denaby United in 1924. In 1925 he joined Eston United and a year later moved to Midland League club Scarborough, finally re-joining Grangetown St Mary’s in 1927, his final recorded club before his eventual retirement.
