Description
Palterton, Derbyshire born wing half Arthur Pembleton played for Woodhouse Exchange and Mansfield Mechanics before World War One, and joined First Division Notts County in 1919 from Woodhouse Exchange, making his Football League debut against Burnley in August 1919. He played 35 games as Notts were relegated that first post War season and stayed a further 2 seasons, making 80 Magpies appearances in total, before moving to Millwall in the summer of 1922. He had 5 seasons at Millwall, where they frequently challenged for promotion from Division 3 (South) never finishing outside of the top six, however after 133 appearances he joined Norwich City in 1927. He had a single season in East Anglia making 21 appearances before retirement from the professional game.
