Uphall, West Lothian born centre half Frank O’Rawe started his senior career with Scottish League Bathgate in 1922, before signing for First Division Preston North End. He made his Football League debut at Sheffield United in October 1923, but made only 4 appearances in 1923-24 before joining Southend United in the 1924 close season. He had 2 seasons at The Kursaal where he was first choice in the pivotal position, scoring twice in 79 appearances before joining Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 1926. However he couldn’t get into a good Brighton side, making only one appearance in a 4-0 defeat at Brentford in the first game of the season, before joining non league Vernon Athletic in 1927, later playing for Whittaker Ellis Works in London in 1928.
