Bo’ness, Lothian born full back Archie McKenzie was signed by Partick Thistle from Bo’ness in April 1905, when he “on trial gave entire satisfaction”. He had joined Bo’Ness in 1903. It was said of him at the time: “The Thistle have made few more profitable transactions than when they signed on this hard working defender. Always cheery and always popular.”
He made his debut appearance on 22nd April, 1905 in a 4-3 win away to Rangers in The Glasgow League, spending the rest of his career at Partick Thistle, but never won representative honours, making 281 appearances for The Jags without ever scoring until his retirement in 1915.
