Description

Maryhill, Glasgow born inside left Bob McFarlane served in The Royal Navy during the First World War and started his football career with Parkhead Juniors, joining Queen’s Park in 1918 after the conflict ended. He made his Scottish League debut at St Mirren in February 1919, and scored twice in 28 appearances for The Spiders before joining Partick Thistle in January 1920. He was not however part of the Partick team that won The Scottish Cup in 1921, although he did play in some of the earlier rounds, scoring in the tie against Motherwell in the 4th round. After Partick Thistle his career took him to Arbroath, and while with The Red Lichties he had a loan spell at Dundee United in January and February 1926, where he made 5 appearances.
