Description
Maryport, Cumberland born inside left played for Solway Star, where he was chosen to represent Dumfrieshire against Galloway, and then for Queen of the South before they had joined the Scottish League. He joined North Eastern League club Workington in 1922 where he was again honoured, being selected for The Rest of The League against Carlisle. He joined Accrington Stanley in 1924 and made his Football League debut against Bradford Park Avenue that September. He played 5 matches in the Football League for Accrington Stanley in the autumn of 1924 but his career thereafter is uncertain.
His younger brother Jimmie, an outside left, played with him at Queen of the South and Workington.
