Description
Birmingham born inside left Jack King began his football career with Hockley St George after the First World War and played for Hinckley United in 1920, from where he was signed by Second Division club Leicester City in 1921, making his Football League debut against Clapton Orient in February 1922. A fringe player at Leicester, he only played for The Foxes in his debut season and in 1923-24, scoring 4 goals in 7 matches before moving to join Third Division (North) club Halifax Town in the summer of 1924. He scored on his debut for The Shaymen in a win over Wrexham that August but lost his place that December after 5 goals in 13 matches, and joined non league Nuneaton Town in 1925, subsequently playing for Kidderminster Harriers in 1926 before a return to Hinckley United in 1927, his last recorded club.
