Prescot, Lancashire born centre forward Thomas Jones began his senior football career with Everton and made his Football League debut against Derby County in April 1905, scoring in a 2-1 victory, spending five seasons on the fringes at Goodison Park without making more than 5 appearances in any season. He played his last match of 15 for The Toffees, having scored 5 goals, against Nottingham Forest in April 1910, before joining Second Division Birmingham in September 1910, where he scored 11 goals in 28 matches in their 1910-11 campaign. However he was once again relegated to the fringes at St Andrews in 1911-12, and he only added 4 appearances, scoring once, in an injury disrupted season before returning to Lancashire to join Central League club Southport Central in 1912.
