Langley Park, County Durham born winger Joe Harron played for Langley Park in 1919 and joined Second Division Hull City in 1920, making his Football League debut at Bristol City that September. one of only two appearances he made for The Tigers before joining Northampton Town in 1921. He scored once in 20 appearances for The Cobblers in 1921-22 before joining Midland League York City, from where he returned to Football League action with Sheffield Wednesday in March 1923. He scored 6 goals in 64 appearances for The Wednesday over the next two years before re-joining York City in 1925, moving to Kettering Town in 1926 and Scarborough in 1927. He once again returned to League action with Barnsley in 1928, having 2 seasons at Oakwell scoring 4 goals in 28 appearances before finishing his career with non league Dartford, joining them in 1930. In April 1937 Dartford awarded him a benefit match against Charlton Athletic, which Dartford won 2-1.
