Aberdeen born right back Robert Hannah began his football career with Aberdeen East End before joining hometown Scottish League club Aberdeen in September 1907, making his debut in a defeat at Dundee in August 1908. His career was interrupted by his service in the Army during the First World War, and he returned to Pittodrie in 1919 having not appeared for The Dons since the 1914-15 season. In total he scored once, a penalty against Partick Thistle at Pittodrie in 1912, in 127 appearances for Aberdeen before joining Peterhead as player-coach in October 1921. He then had a brief spell as player coach of Forfar Athletic in the final two months of 1922 before emigrating to The United States, where he remained involved in football.
