Description

Calton, Glasgow born half back Edwin Garvie made his debut for amateur Scottish League club Queen’s Park in September 1911 at Motherwell, and made 103 appearance for Queen’s, scoring eight times, and last played for them in December 1914 before enlisting in the Army after the outbreak of the First World War. He was a Lance Corporal in the 5th Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders, however he was wounded during Battle of Loos on 25th September 1915, taken prisoner and died in a German prison hospital in Jülich on 15th October 1915, aged 23.
