Description
Glasgow born winger Robert Faulkner was playing Scottish junior football prior to World War One but after the resumption of peacetime football he signed for Blackburn Rovers in 1919, making his First Division debut at Chelsea in February 1920. He played 9 matches over 6 weeks before losing his place in April, and joined Queen’s Park Rangers that summer. He played in Rangers’ inaugural Football League match against Watford in August 1920 and made 52 appearances over the next two seasons, scoring once, before a move to the North East with South Shields in the summer of 1922, for whom he made 20 appearances in 1922-23. He then went to play in the nascent North American soccer leagues in 1923, playing for at least 4 clubs in the US and Canada over the following seasons.
