Scottish left back Thomas Eyre began his football career with Glasgow Ashfield and joined Second Division Lincoln City in the summer of 1895, making his debut in an FA Cup tie at Peterborough Association in October 1895. His Football League debut followed at Notts County a week later and he scored his only career goal in a 3-1 win at Leicester Fosse the next February. Over the following two seasons he continued to appear with regularity for The Imps before returning to Scotland to play for Hamilton Academical in 1898 after 73 appearances for Lincoln City.
