Description
Portsmouth, Hampshire born left half Harry Digweed first joined hometown Southern League club Portsmouth in 1899 and in July 1902 joined Second Division Burton United, for whom he made his Football League debut against Burnley that September, being ever present in United’s team that season and making 39 appearances in total. In 1903 he joined Plymouth Argyle for their inaugural professional season in the Southern League and was virtually ever-present for the first six months of the campaign before losing his place in the team in February 1904. At the end of the season he re-joined Portsmouth after 31 appearances for Argyle, playing on for Pompey for several seasons.
