Davies Wally Image 1 Crewe Alexandra 1922

Description
Manchester born inside forward Wally Davies played junior football before World War One for Crossley’s in 1912 and Hurst in 1913 and had spells with Bolton Wanderers and Manchester United during 1914-15 without making the first eleven at either club. After the War he joined Crewe Alexandra and played in their inaugural Football League fixture at Tranmere in August 1921 but was never a regular in their first eleven, scoring 8 times in 34 appearances for The Alex over his 3 seasons of League football before joining non league Nantwich in 1924. He then played for Whitchurch in 1925 and Sandbach Ramblers in 1926 before retirement.
