Description

Manchester born inside forward Dick Crawshaw began his football career with Woodhouses in 1914 and joined Rochdale in 1918, before signing for First Division Manchester City in June 1919, making his Football League debut against Bolton Wanderers that September, scoring in a 4-1 home defeat. He scored six times in 22 appearances during the campaign but remained on the fringes for a further two seasons, making two appearances as City finished runners up in the League Championship in 1920-21 and only two more in 1921-22.

In July 1922 he joined Halifax Town, scoring once in 8 appearances for The Shaymen before a move to Nelson in February 1923. He scored 5 goals on the season run in as Nelson won the Third Division (North) Championship, but after their relegation from the Second Division a year later he left to join non league Stalybridge Celtic after 10 goals in 34 appearances. He had five seasons with Stalybridge before joining Mossley in 1929, his final club before his eventual retirement.
