Birmingham born full back Vic Corbett began his football career with Bromsgrove Rovers in 1930 and played for Worcester City in 1931 and Hereford United in 1932, from whom he joined First Division Manchester City in 1933. Corbett made his Football League debut against Arsenal in a 1-1 draw at Highbury in September 1933 and played 5 more games that season, one in the FA Cup. He didn’t appear again for Manchester City and after being released in 1935 joined Southend United, however he played only once for The Shrimpers in a defeat at Reading in May 1936 before returning to Midlands non league football with Brierley Hill Alliance that summer.
