Description
Spratton, Northamptonshire born winger Walter Busby began his football career with Wellingborough Britons in 1900 before joining Southern League Wellingborough in 1901. He moved to Queen’s Park Rangers in 1902 before a move to Second Division Woolwich Arsenal in 1903, for whom he made his Football League debut in a 4-0 win against Manchester United at The Manor Ground, scoring the third goal. Busby scored once more in 5 further appearances for The Gunners through to January 1904, and stayed as a reserve at Arsenal until 1906, when he signed for Southern League Leyton. He played several seasons for Leyton before retiring from professional football.
