He was Honorary Secretary of The Bohs from 1917 to 1925, a member of the Irish Football League Council from 1919 to 1920 and from 1921 when they were formed he was on the Councils of both the Irish Free State Football Association and the League of Ireland. Originally vice Chairman of the Football Association, he became its Chairman in 1924 and served until 1929, after which he served as its Honorary Secretary for a number of years.
