Description

Southampton, Hampshire born outside left Ken Boyes began his football career with Shirley Warren in 1913 before joining hometown Southern League club Southampton in May 1914, however his career was soon interrupted by the onset of the First World War which forced the suspension of peacetime football in May 1915. After the War Boyes returned to Southampton where he scored once in 4 appearances in their 1919-20 Southern League campaign, making his Football League debut more than a season later against Norwich City in October 1921.

He made 3 further League appearances for Southampton in April 1922 on the run in as they won the 1921-22 Third Division (South) Championship, before being transferred to Bristol Rovers in June 1922, however he only played twice for The Pirates before leaving Eastville to join non league Weymouth in the summer of 1923. Hr returned to Southampton in 1924, joining Southampton Civil Service, and played for Bitterne Sports from 1925, Romsey Town in 1929 and Pirelli General in 1930 before his retirement.
