Description
Harrow School educated, outside right Reginald Bosworth-Smith studied at Magdalen College, Oxford University and won a blue at association football while at Oxford, playing in the 1895 Varsity match, won by Cambridge, although he received praise for his performance with reports stating “there was no better player upon the field than the gentleman just mentioned”. He played for The Corinthians “upon many occasions” while at Oxford, where his play was described as follows: “He is fast and tricky…when near goal… he centres in accurately [and] shoots at goal on the slightest provocation”.
