Description
Neilston, Renfrewshire born inside forward John Blair played junior football for Thornliebank, Neilston Park Villa, Neilston Victoria and Pollok before joining Third Lanark in 1923, before joining Tottenham Hotspur in 1926, making his Football League debut against Everton in August 1926, scoring the winner in a 2-1 victory. He played a total of 30 matches scoring 15 goals in all competitions for the White Hart Lane club between August 1926 and September 1927. Blair signed for Sheffield United in November 1927 where he went on to feature in a further 34 matches and netting 7 goals between November 1927 and November 1928, before joining Irish League Fordsons in 1929. He ended his playing career at Irish club Cork in 1930.
