Description
Wing half Arthur Barrett, born in Stratford, East London, and photographed playing for amateur club Leytonstone in 1922, played mostly as an amateur, also playing for Ilford in 1928 before joining Second Division Millwall, for whom he made his Football League debut and only first team appearance in a heavy defeat at Bradford Park Avenue on 3rd May 1930. He also played for Southern League club Margate thereafter, joining them later in 1930.
He was the older brother of Bert Barrett who played for Leytonstone, Southampton, Fulham and won both amateur and full England international honours. A third brother also played amateur football with them for Leytonstone.
