Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire born left back Willie Allan began his football career with Kilbarchan Athletic in 1920 and joined Greenock Morton in 1921. However he was not part of the Morton team that won the 1922 Scottish Cup Final and joined Johnstone later the same year before returning to play for Morton in 1923. He played in the nascent American Soccer League for Bethlehem Steel but returned to England in 1931 joining Third Division (North) Hartlepools United. He made his Football League debut, and only appearance for ‘Pools, in a 2-2 draw against Carlisle United in August 1931, before joining St Mirren in 1932. He finished his career with Dunfermline Athletic who he joined in 1933.
