Birkenhead, Cheshire born inside right or centre forward Angus McIntosh began his football career with Inverness Thistle from where he was signed by First Division club Sunderland in July 1905, making his Football League debut against Preston North End in April 1906. Never a regular at Roker Park, McIntosh played in less than half of Sunderland’s matches over the following two seasons before a move to Bury in November 1908 after 12 goals in 46 matches for The Wearsiders.

At Bury he scored an FA Cup hat-trick in a big win over Kettering in January 1909, scoring 17 goals in 39 appearances for The Shakers before a move to Aberdeen in May 1910, where he played for four seasons, scoring 23 goals in 67 matches for The Dons before joining Buckie Thistle in 1914, his last recorded club.
