Bristol born full back Reg Dyer had joined Bristol City from Ashton City, and made his Robins debut at Sheffield Wednesday in February 1922, his only appearance that season which would see Bristol City relegated from The Second Division. However they bounced straight back and Dyer played 18 matches as they won the Third Division (South) Championship in 1922-23. In 2 more seasons at Ashton Gate he never established himself as a regular starter, and in the summer of 1925 he moved to Second Division Fulham after 52 appearances for Bristol City. He played 5 seasons at Craven Cottage playing his last game in September 1929, joining non league Yeovil later that autumn after 103 appearances for The Cottagers.
