Uphall, Lothian born right back Hector Wilkinson began his football career with Vale of Grange before signing for Hibernian in 1927, making his Scottish League debut in a defeat at Hamilton Academical in February 1928. Described as “a fast, clever back, he can cover up well, and can bring the ball quickly under control or take it first time”, over nine seasons at Easter Road, he scored once, in a 2-0 win over Raith Rovers in November 1928, in 283 appearances. He signed for Dundee United in July 1936 and made 8 appearances for The Terrors before his release in November 1936, his career thereafter is uncertain.
