Description

Didsbury, Manchester born centre forward Jimmy Wray began his football career with Norman Athletic in 1908 and during the First World War appeared as a wartime guest for Bolton Wanderers in 1916. After the War, he joined Southern League Reading in 1919, featuring in their 1919-20 campaign, and when they joined The Football League in 1920 he made two further appearances for them in the Third Division (South), his League debut coming at Grimsby Town in October 1920, and his other appearance came in February 1921, when he scored in a 2-1 win at Watford.

He joined Southport in the summer of 1921 and had a single season at Haig Avenue, scoring 2 goals in 19 appearances, before joining non league Chorley in 1922. He joined Exeter City in 1923 and spent 1923-24 at St James’ Park without making a first team appearance, before joining non league Ottery St Mary in 1924, later playing for Chard Town in 1925 before retiring.
