Glasgow born Jimmy Williamson shot to fame as he scored a great goal to seal a 2-0 shock Scottish Cup Final triumph for Kilmarnock over Rangers in 1929, and he was soon hailed as a new Andy Cunningham. He had been signed from junior club Ardrossan Winton Rangers in 1927 but suffered a breakdown in his health in the early 1930’s missing a lengthy period. Once recovered he came back into the team in 1933-34 and went on to make 163 Scottish League appearances for Kilmarnock, scoring 48 goals. He joined Patrick Thistle in 1937 and then Stenhousemuir two years later but the onset of the Second World War then finished his playing career.
