Description
New Delaval, Northumberland born right back Jack Proctor began his football career with New Delaval Villa before signing for First Division club Huddersfield Town in 1930, spending two seasons at Leeds Road without making a first team appearance for The Terriers. Proctor joined Boutnemouth & Boscombe Athletic in the 1932 close season, making his Football League debut at Cardiff City that August, immediately establishing himself as a first team regular. He played 57 times for The Cherries over two seasons before returning to the north east to join Hartlepools United in the summer of 1934. He missed only two matches during his debut season at The Victoria Ground, and was very much a first team regular during his four seasons with The Monkey Hangers, where he also took penalties with reliability, scoring 22 goals in 162 matches before a transfer to Blyth Spartans in 1938, his career being ended by the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939.
