Description

Longton, Staffordshire born inside forward Jack Parker began his football career prior to the First World War with Longton and played wartime football for Port Vale in 1918, but after the conflict he signed for Birmingham & District League club Shrewsbury Town in 1919 from where he was signed by Second Division club Nottingham Forest in February 1920, his Football League debut coming against Grimsby Town the same month. He made 5 appearances for Forest before losing his place, and joined non league Port Sunlight in the close season before a return to Shrewsbury Town later in 1920.

Parker returned to Football League action in May 1922 when he signed for Third Division (South) club Bristol Rovers and he was a regular for much of his debut season, missing only the February and March fixtures, and he played in all three inside forward positions for The Pirates, scoring 7 goals in 28 appearances, but the following season he only played in 2 further matches early in the season and joined non league Winsford United in 1924, his last known club before his eventual retirement.
