Anerley, Bromley born winger Ernie Parker started his football career with Anerley Argyle in 1931 and played for Croydon in 1932 before signing for local professional club Crystal Palace, making his Football League debut in a Third Division (South) match at Bristol Rovers in August 1933, but he made only one more first team appearance in a 0-0 draw against Exeter City at Selhurst Park that October before he moved on to Mansfield Town in the 1934 close season. He was largely a fringe player in his 2 seasons at Field Mill, scoring 4 goals in 16 appearances before joining Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic in 1936. He didn’t have many opportunities at Bournemouth, making 7 appearances over a single season at Dean Court, and joined Bristol Rovers in the summer of 1937, where he scored once in 9 appearances before finishing his senior football career.
