Rotherham born full back Bill Ogley joined Swansea Town ahead of their inaugural Football League campaign in 1920, making his debut against Watford in September 1920 and scoring the winner in a 2-1 win at Vetch Field. However despite 3 goals, he only made 6 appearances for The Swans before joining non league Porth in 1921. A year later he returned to Football League action with Newport County where he scored twice in 39 games over 2 seasons, before transferring to Queen’s Park Rangers in the summer of 1924. A single season at Loftus Road saw him score twice in 41 games, before a return to his native Yorkshire with non league Castleford Town in 1925. He subsequently played for Denaby United and Denaby Welfare.
